My Approach

As I practice person-centred counselling I would like to briefly explain what this means.

 

In person-centred counselling it is believed that given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self.

 

So to help you achieve the above, I will endeavour to offer you:

  • unconditional positive regard – accept and value you.

  • congruence - be honest and transparent in how I experience you and your world

  • empathic understanding – endeavour to see your viewpoint as if I am you.

 

When you attend counselling sessions I will encourage you to bring your issues to the session and explore them with me alongside you – where the counselling goes is led by you and not directed by me.
